For companies and organisations, AI translations can be appealing due to their speed, low cost and convenience. For simple, informal or internal documents, an AI translation may meet minimum quality requirements. In these cases, the document is mainly used to communicate general information, and does not involve persuasion, detailed information or confidential communication. An AI translation, despite the inevitable errors, can therefore be considered “good enough”.

The Added Value of Native Translators

Nevertheless, Transferendi continues to stick to manual translations, performed by professional, native translators. Whereas AI focuses mainly on literal translation, our translators take the tone, target audience and cultural context into account. These are elements that are key to high-quality translations. This is why we remain convinced of the power of human translators.

AI-editing als tussenoplossing

To meet our customers' needs, we have added AI editing to our services. This means that one of our native translators will check and edit translations generated by AI. Sentences are made to sound more natural, grammatical errors are corrected and content is checked to insure that the language matches intent. AI editing is an efficient way to improve the quality of an AI translation. Nevertheless, an important caveat applies to us: while an AI-edited translation can improve accuracy, it never achieves the level of a fully manual translation by our professional translators.
